The recent signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism, the Minister for Sport and Youth, and the Italian Golf Federation aims to promote and develop golf tourism in Italy, a segment that, together with sports tourism, generates 10% of global tourism expenditure, with growth prospects estimated at around 17.5% between 2023 and 2030.
This figure confirms the strong multiplier effect of investments: it is calculated that for every 1 million euros of public investment, 8 million are mobilized by the private sector, with almost 21 million in revenues in the Sport System.
Knowing that they can count on a potential global demand of 60 million golfers - 23 million of whom would have traveled to play golf in 2023 alone - entrepreneurs, investors, and international investment funds are thus showing a growing interest in this particular product. The conference is specifically designed to offer a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of the sector: on one hand, the growing golf tourism, with the need for networking in the industry, and on the other hand, the needs of the industry connected to this tourism, which requires stimulating capital inflow and offering greater guarantees for its economic sustainability and international attractiveness.
