Alberto Mattei

I define myself as an independent researcher who for over fifteen years has been engaged in experimenting with, studying and spreading the culture of remote work and digital nomadism in Italy. In 2010 I founded nomadidigitali.it, the first Italian communication project entirely dedicated to the subject; since 2021 I have been President of the Associazione Italiana Nomadi Digitali, a non-profit Third Sector organisation that works to make Italy — starting from small municipalities and inland areas — an ideal destination for workers, professionals and digital entrepreneurs of the third millennium. Not an association of digital nomads, but a network of professionals, university lecturers and researchers that studies the phenomenon with a scientific approach, in order to generate awareness and produce knowledge, guidelines and concrete recommendations. Since July 2025 we have been accredited to the Chamber of Deputies as a parliamentary interest group.
