PhD and professor of economic statistics at the University of Bologna, where he directed the center for tourism studies (CAST). He is currently the chairman of the "tourism" Clust-ER in the Emilia-Romagna region. He has published over 100 scientific articles proposing the use of artificial intelligence for analyzing and forecasting tourism supply and demand, including the use of digital traces and big data. He has collaborated with many newspapers as an expert in the travel industry. He directs a permanent training program on business (travel) intelligence for the corporate world. Founder and current co-director of the National Observatory on Business Travel (in collaboration with PoliMi).
