Andrea Saravalle

Andrea Saravalle, PhD in Economics and Management, is an applied economist of the built environment, university lecturer and strategic marketing consultant. He teaches at the University of Bologna, the University of Brescia and the Polytechnic University of Marche. His specialisation concerns the economic analysis of the built environment, understood as the set of buildings, infrastructure, spaces, networks and services that enables the functioning of businesses, cities and territories. His field of study also encompasses urban and territorial regeneration processes, refurbishment, reuse, maintenance, adaptation and transformation of existing assets. He therefore analyses how physical heritage, the quality of interventions and the organisational capacity of the actors managing them affect productivity, attractiveness and value creation. In the tourism sector he applies this perspective to destinations and hospitality businesses. Accommodation facilities, mobility, accessibility, public spaces, services, technologies, landscape and territorial identity form a single economic system. The competitiveness of a destination depends on the ability to coordinate these elements, regenerate existing heritage, guide investments and transform the quality of spaces and services into value for visitors, operators and local communities. His activity integrates academic research, consultancy and direct knowledge of markets. The experience gained in digital marketing and the hospitality sector enables him to connect economic analysis to the concrete decisions of businesses: positioning, investments, innovation, quality of supply and public-private collaboration. He participates as a speaker at scientific congresses, trade fairs and professional events dedicated to tourism, cities, artificial intelligence, industry and innovation, including Microsoft Azure Day, City Vision, Chief AI Officer by IKN, CiMET Congress, AIV National Congress.
