Antonia Gravagnuolo

Biography

Antonia Gravagnuolo is a Researcher at the Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR ISPC). An architect and PhD in Evaluation Methods, she conducts research on sustainable and circular tourism, circular economy and territorial development, with particular reference to the ecological transition of tourist destinations and businesses, multidimensional impact assessment and the definition of innovative governance models. She has coordinated several European research and innovation projects in the tourism and cultural heritage sector, including Horizon 2020 Be.CULTOUR – Beyond Cultural Tourism (2021–2024), dedicated to the development of circular and innovative approaches to cultural tourism, and EU COSME/SMP TRACE – SMEs TRAnsition for a European Circular Tourism Ecosystem (2023–2025), aimed at supporting the transition towards a more sustainable and circular European tourism ecosystem. She holds scientific responsibility roles in several national and European research projects. Her scientific activity focuses on the integration of tourism, cultural heritage, circular economy, innovation and territorial regeneration, through the development of approaches and tools for impact assessment, decision support and the sustainability of destinations, businesses and territories. She is the author of national and international scientific publications on the topics of tourism, sustainability, circular economy and cultural heritage enhancement, and a member of the Advisory Board of the international scientific journal Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Horizons.
