Antonio Zacchera

Born on June 8, 1962, raised on Lake Maggiore, he graduated in Business Administration in 1986 from the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan with a thesis on the fiscal aspects of the hotel industry (supervisor Prof. Victor Uckmar). After gaining experience in leading Italian consulting firms and banking/financial companies, he joined the Board of Directors of the family holding company, where he coordinates the redevelopment and strategic repositioning of hotel activities through major structural and technological investments. He is the CEO of Zacchera Hotels (brand of SAB Alberghi di Baveno S.p.A), operating in the hotel sector since 1873, and registered in the Register of Historic Brands of National Interest. Today the Zacchera group has 900 rooms, spread across four hotels and a residence all located on Lake Maggiore, between Stresa and Baveno, active in the MICE & leisure segments, and employs 350 staff members. A champion of digitalisation, paperless operations and eco-sustainability, he has implemented a rigorous 'green' policy across all hotels in the Zacchera group, which have consequently obtained prestigious certifications. In 2014 he received, as a representative of the family, the Premio Excellent, a prestigious award for those working in the tourism industry in Italy. In 2024 he was named Hotel Entrepreneur of the Year by Confindustria Alberghi. He has served as CEO of the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, board member of the Fondazione Banca Popolare di Novara, board member of Banca Aletti, board member of Banca Popolare di Intra and Vice President of Intra Private Bank. He currently holds the position of Deputy Vice President of Confindustria Alberghi. A passionate sportsman, he practices paragliding, kite surfing, free riding and enjoys mountain biking.
