Elena dell'Agnese is a full professor of Geography at the University of Milano-Bicocca. She works in political geography, cultural geography and environmental discourse. She has written monographs and critical textbooks, including Mode e modi del turismo in Liguria, with Lorenzo Bagnoli, and Bon Voyage. Per una geografia critica del turismo. Since 2012, she has been running the workshop Turismo sostenibile in ambienti fragili, at the Marhe Center in Maghoodoo, Maldives. She has published over 200 research contributions. After serving as vice-president of the International Geographical Union (2014-2022) and of the Società Geografica Italiana (2018-2021), since 2021 she has been president of the Associazione dei Geografi Italiani.
