Enrica Lemmi

Biography

She is a Full Professor of Geography at the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Pisa with delegation from the Director for Masters and Continuing Education. She holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Geography. She teaches Regional Geography and Geopolitics at the University of Pisa and Geography of Tourism at the Campus Foundation in Lucca, where she also serves as Scientific Director. She has also taught Economic and Political Geography at the Naval Academy of Livorno. Former President of the Regional Technical-Scientific Committee of the ITS Academy on Tourism, she is now the Rector's Delegate of the University of Pisa in the Assembly of Members of the ITS Academy. She is also Director of First Level Master's programs at the University of Pisa and Executive Master's programs developed with the Italian Touring Club and the Italian Alpine Club. She is also Educational Director of the Italian Academy for Tourism, established by Campus Foundation, TCI and ItinerArte Study Center. Among her numerous institutional roles, she is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Association of Via Francigena Ways (AEVF) and of the Scientific Committee of the European Association Romea Strata (AERS). She is also Vice President of the International Center for Studies on Pilgrimage Cultures (CISCuP) and, since 2019, a member of the Advisory Board of BTO (Buy Tourism Online). She is the Technical-Scientific Coordinator of regional and European research projects, including a Horizon project on tourism and peripheral areas of Europe. She is a member of the Management Council of the Interuniversity Consortium for Tourism Research (CIRT) for the University of Pisa. Author of about a hundred articles and several books, she has participated as a speaker in numerous Italian and international conferences.
