Federico Conte

I am a Supreme Court lawyer with solid and proven professional experience in civil and criminal law, combined with a significant record of institutional and parliamentary engagement. I obtained my Law Degree in July 1995 from LUISS 'G. Carli' University in Rome with the highest honours, having written a thesis in Criminal Law. I have been registered with the Bar Association of Salerno since 1998 and with the Special Register of lawyers admitted to practise before the Higher Courts since 2010. I practise as an independent lawyer at Studio Legale Conte in Salerno, and throughout my career I have provided assistance and consultancy to major national and international insurance groups (including Groupama, Generali and Allianz-Ras), as well as having served as a member of the executive board of the Salerno Criminal Bar Association. In the institutional sphere, I was elected as a Member of the Italian Parliament (Chamber of Deputies) in the XVIII legislature (2018–2022). In Parliament I served as Secretary of the II Standing Committee (Justice), member of the Committee for Authorisations to Proceed, and member of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission. As the main spokesperson on justice issues for the parliamentary group LeU, I co-authored the so-called 'Lodo Conte bis' on the statute of limitations and actively collaborated with Minister Marta Cartabia in drafting the reforms of civil procedure, criminal procedure and the judicial system. I am the author of the volumes 'Oltre le Regioni - Il caso Campania' (2020) and 'Con la stessa passione - La mia attività in Parlamento nella XVIII legislatura' (2022), both published by Rogiosi Editore.
