Federico Della Puppa

Biography

Degree in Forest Sciences with a thesis on the management of natural parks and PhD in Mountain and Environmental Economics with a thesis on the assessment and marketing of environmental goods and services. Scientific researcher at Cresme from 1995 to 2004. From 2001 to 2018 contract lecturer in Economics at the IUAV University of Venice, and he was lecturer in Territorial Marketing at the Second-level Master's in P.A. at Ca' Foscari University of Venice in 2014 and 2015. From 2004 to 2011 he worked on national and European urban regeneration programmes. In 2013 he co-authored with Roberto Masiero the manifesto 'Dalla smart city alla smart land' and in 2016 with Aldo Bonomi and Roberto Masiero he co-authored the book 'La società circolare. Fordismo, capitalismo molecolare, sharing economy' (Derive/Approdi, 2016). In 2018 with Roberto Masiero he published the essay 'Smart City, Smart Land, Switch City' (ZeL Edizioni, 2018) and in 2019 he authored the essay 'Dal valore economico al valore sociale' (Engramma, n. 166). He edited the posthumous book by Marina Dragotto 'A chi serve la città' (ZeL Edizioni, 2021). Since 2016 he has been a member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Fondazione Francesco Fabbri. In 2023 he carried out design activities for the Città Veneta della Cultura 2023 call for the IPA Terre Alte della Marca Trevigiana, a prize that was won, for which he served as project manager for the implementation of the activities included in the candidacy dossier. In 2024 he was coordinator of the 'Piano di sviluppo socioeconomico sostenibile dei comuni laziali del cratere del terremoto del 2016'. He works on a permanent basis with Smart Land srl, a company specialising in assessments, consultancy, analysis and strategies for the built environment, businesses and territories, where he is head of the Analysis & Strategies area. From 15 July 2025 he is Site Manager of the Association for the Heritage of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
