Filippo Giorgetti

Biography

Filippo Giorgetti, born in 1979, graduated in Engineering. His strategic vision for the City is based on sustainability as if it were a tripod supporting the Environment, Economy and Social Innovation. His motto is 'We look to the future by building the present' and with these premises he became Mayor of Bellaria Igea Marina in 2019, reconfirmed at the helm of the Municipal Administration in 2024. In his role, he has promoted a vision of territorial development that considers tourism, sport and urban quality as closely connected elements to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the city, as well as the quality of life of the Bellaria Igea Marina community. Bellaria Igea Marina represents one of the main tourist destinations on the Riviera Romagnola and, under his administration, has strengthened its positioning as a venue for sporting events, national and international competitions and initiatives dedicated to wellbeing and social inclusion, capable of generating economic value, extending the tourist season and enhancing local excellence. His administrative action has focused on the development of infrastructure, the redevelopment of public spaces and sports facilities, and the construction of a strategy that recognises school and sport as a fundamental part of administrative activity. During his term of office, Filippo Giorgetti promotes close collaboration between institutions, sports associations, tourism operators and local businesses, in the belief that the synergy between public and private sectors represents a fundamental element for the enhancement of the community and the tourist destination. In this context, the candidacy of Bellaria Igea Marina as European City of Sport 2028 fits in, recognising the Administration's commitment to making sport an instrument of wellbeing, social inclusion and sustainable development, capable of strengthening the identity of the City.
