Giuseppe Tecce

Giuseppe Tecce is a Campanian writer born in Benevento in 1972. After graduating from the Liceo Scientifico, he earned a degree in Law in Salerno, but it is his civil service, carried out between a retirement home and a family home for minors, that marks his path: in 1999 he is among the founders of a social cooperative and since then he has dedicated his career to welfare, managing communities for minors, employment integration projects and reception and integration initiatives. Today he directs residential facilities for people who are not self-sufficient. Alongside this, he has always nurtured a passion for writing. He has published eleven books including novels, short stories, travel diaries and two poetry collections. Among his titles: L'agente della Terra di Mezzo, Storia di un Presidente che si credeva un topo, Ljuba senza scarpe, Tramonti Occidentali, L'inaffondabile, inspired by the true story of the sailing vessel Bayesian, Racconti dall'Irpinia and A mezz'ora da tutto. One of his novels has been translated into German and published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He has presented his books at the European Parliament in Brussels and at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, receiving numerous national and international awards, including the Premio Itinera Maris for the best sea novel, the Premio Spoleto Art Festival, the Premio Internazionale Oscar Wilde and the Book Verlag Award from Cologne. He writes for the Quotidiano del Sud and for the international magazine Masticadores, and regularly brings his stories to Italian communities living in Germany and Belgium. He is the creator of the Festival Letture dal Bosco, which takes place every year at Lago Laceno: a nationally significant event dedicated to reading aloud in the middle of the woods. His latest novel, Sette e Quarantacinque (Graus Edizioni, 2026), previewed at the Salone Internazionale del Libro in Turin, is a noir set in the Italian provinces: the first chapter of a trilogy featuring Mimì Gagliardi, a crime journalist.
