He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna. A significant part of his research focuses on analyzing consumer behavior in tourism and transportation. He has published numerous articles in leading industry journals, and his research has been funded by important international research grants. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Annals of Tourism Research Empirical Insights and Associate Editor of the journal Annals of Tourism Research. He serves as the Director of the Master's Degree Program in Tourism Economics and Management and the Master's Program in Event Organization for Tourism Destination Development.
