Lucia Varra

She is an Associate Professor of Business Organization (SECS-P/10) at the University of Florence, with a PhD in "Economic-Business Doctrines and Corporate Governance" and a Master's in Business Management. Since 1997, she has been engaged in research and academic teaching on "Business Organization and Human Resource Management". She has extensive and in-depth experience in the tourism sector, which is the focus of much of her scientific production, including monographs, articles in national and international journals, and contributions to national and international conference proceedings. Scientific supervisor and coordinator of important national, regional, and European Commission research projects on tourism topics, she has carried out numerous professional assignments in the sector on behalf of public and private entities. She was the scientific supervisor and coordinator of the Tourism Destination Observatory for the Municipality of Abetone and the Municipality of Prato. She has held numerous institutional positions within UNIFI bodies. She is currently a member of the University Commission for Communication and Public Engagement. She is a member of the Presidential Council of SISTUR (Italian Society of Tourism Sciences) and of the Scientific Committee of Cirt (Interuniversity Research Center on Tourism). She has thirty years of experience in business consulting and training, in prestigious companies and institutions.
