He is a professor of Tourism Economics at the University of Catania. He is the regional delegate of SISTUR - Italian Society of Tourism Sciences - and regional representative of ASSIDEMA - Italian Association of Destination Managers. He conducts teaching and research activities on topics related to economics applied to the tourism sector, with particular attention to sustainable development, territorial governance, and analysis of tourism models. He coordinates the Master's program in Tourism Operation Manager at the University of Catania, a training course for management in collaboration with the most important hotel groups at the national level. He provides consultancy for companies and organizations on Destination Management topics and tourism project planning. In recent years, he has overseen the projects of Enjoy Barocco (province of Ragusa), Turisma (Taormina district), and Discovering Rural Sicily (Western and Southeastern Sicily).
