Marco Valigi

Biography

Novara 1980. Graduated with honors in Political Science from the University of Pavia in 2003. In 2007, he obtained a PhD in International Relations, and in 2019, he completed his education with a Master in Business Administration (MBA). In addition to collaborating with major Italian universities - including Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, at the Forlì campus - he has taught at ESCP Business School and is currently a professor of Strategic Studies at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. Alongside his academic activities, he has worked with institutions such as the European Investment Bank, NATO, the European Commission, and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, where he served as a consultant on defense industry and the Wider Mediterranean during the Draghi Government. He has been an advisor to the CEO of E&Y Italy and to a number of companies active in the construction and Oil&Gas sectors. He has collaborated with the ENI Enrico Mattei Foundation and continues to maintain structured relationships with think tanks such as ISPI and Aspen Institute Italia on topics related to the relationship between business and the international environment. He is an author for HBR Italia and, in addition to the book "Geopolitics for Businesses" (EGEA 2025), he has written essays and articles on international politics, energy strategies, defense, and, indeed, on the relationship between the business world and ongoing international changes.
