Mario Garofano

Mario Paolo Garofano is an expert in cybersecurity, fintech and digital innovation. He is Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma and Par-Tec S.p.A., where he leads cybersecurity and data governance strategies, ensuring compliance with the NIS2 directive and the main European and international regulations. He also serves as CISO for enterprise organizations in the renewable energy sector, contributing to the protection and resilience of critical infrastructures. He has founded and led initiatives in cybersecurity, corporate intelligence and blockchain, gaining experience in zero-day, SOC and Blue/Red Team activities. Specialized in blockchain security, smart contract auditing and forensics, he is co-founder and lead strategist of Iounios Capital. He promotes advanced risk management models and the ethical use of AI and machine learning.
