Michael Rech

I was born in Rovereto on September 16, 1988, and I live in Folgaria in the Province of Trento. My mother is English and my father is from Folgaria; they have been restaurateurs on the Alpe Cimbra for many years. I graduated from the Marconi Technical Industrial Institute in Rovereto, specializing in Scientific and Technological Studies. In May 2009, at the age of 20, I was elected to the Municipal Council of Folgaria with the Giovanenergia list, then appointed minority group leader and member of the Assembly of the Vallagarina District. From October 2010 to July 2015, I served as President of the Magnifica Comunità degli Altipiani Cimbri, with responsibilities in: budget and planning, institutional relations, tourism and commerce, institutional reform, personnel, urban planning, mobility, and culture. I was a member of the Council of Local Autonomies and president of the Landscape Protection Commission of the Altipiani Cimbri. During my tenure, I founded and coordinated the Altipiani Cimbri Family District and established the Altipiani Cimbri Youth Area Plan. On May 29, 2013, I was appointed CEO of the Tourism Board of Folgaria Lavarone Luserna. Since June 9, 2016, I have been appointed President and CEO of the same company. I collaborate in managing the family business, which includes two mountain huts on the ski slopes of Folgaria. In particular, I am involved in managing the Rifugio Baita Tonda. On May 26, 2019, and in May 2025, I was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Folgaria.
