Mons Anselmi

Born in Genoa on 9 May 1961, to Cesare and Stefana Pallavicini, after completing his scientific secondary school diploma, in 1985 he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Genoa. The following year he entered the Major Archdiocesan Seminary of Genoa. On 9 May 1992 he was ordained a priest by Cardinal Giovanni Canestri in Genoa Quinto al Mare. Incardinated in his diocese of origin, he served, among other roles, as head of the youth pastoral service of the Archdiocese (1994-2007) and regional coordinator of youth ministry for the Ligurian Episcopal Conference (1997-2007). He then spent five years as head of the national youth pastoral service of the Italian Episcopal Conference in Rome, also organising two editions of World Youth Day for Italian young people. Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Genoa by Pope Francis on 10 January 2015, on 17 November 2022 Pope Bergoglio himself appointed him Bishop of Rimini. He made his entrance into the Romagnan diocese on 22 January 2023. Bishop responsible for youth and vocational ministry within the Emilia-Romagna Episcopal Conference. Within the Italian Episcopal Conference, he serves as secretary of the episcopal commission for family, youth and life.
