Pietro Pagella

Biography

He is a cultural anthropologist and project manager with experience in designing and managing initiatives in the tourism, food, and international cooperation sectors. Since 2013, he has been collaborating with the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, where he was responsible for the Study Trips project and worked as a travel designer, creating gastronomic itineraries and accompanying students to numerous destinations worldwide. In 2024, he held the position of Regional Coordinator for Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta for the PNRR Roots Tourism project, collaborating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to develop a tourism offer dedicated to returning travelers and promoting awareness of this type of tourism in the territories. He teaches at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where he leads the course on Anthropology Applied to Design within the Sustainable Food Systems Design program; at the University of Gastronomic Sciences, where he is the instructor for the Anthropology and Travel for Gastronomes course in the Bachelor's Degree in Food Sciences and Cultures; and at Talent Garden, as a lecturer for the Master's program in Future for Food: Innovation & Business Strategies. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Ecogastronomy, Food Sciences and Cultures at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo and the University of Turin. His research explores the intersections between food, migration, and tourism.
