Raffaele Cirone

RAFFAELE CIRONE - BIO API Raffaele Cirone is currently president of FAI–Federazione Apicoltori Italiani, member of the Honey and Beekeeping Group within the Copa/Cogeca of the European Union and Italian delegate to the International Federation of Beekeepers' Associations, member of the Board of Directors of Confagricoltura. Beekeeper, beekeeping expert, journalist and editor-in-chief of the magazine Apitalia, he has an extensive outreach activity to his credit as author-publisher of specialist publications, speaker and coordinator of major conference events, contributor and guest of print, radio and television outlets. He wrote the preface to the volume 'La Mente dell'Ape – Considerazioni tra Etologia e Filosofia', the testamentary work of Professor Giorgio Celli, a great Italian entomologist and ethologist. A connoisseur and scholar of beekeeping legislation, Raffaele Cirone is among the leading promoters of regulatory measures for the 'Discipline of Beekeeping', aimed at defending the Italian Bee and representing it - at the main institutional political, cultural, religious and military venues - as an irreplaceable heritage of our biodiversity. He lives and works in Rome, has two children - Davide and Noemi - and tends the beehives on the panoramic terrace of the Palazzo dell'Agricoltura, on behalf of Minister Francesco Lollobrigida. In 2015, in Vatican City, he met Pope Francis together with a delegation of 1,000 beekeepers. For years he has been actively participating in the Meeting di Rimini, with his educational beehive and live bees, narrating their secrets and their industrious function as an exemplary testimony of Creation.
