Sara Melotti

Sara is a photographer, filmmaker and writer. She moved to the USA after high school, where she embarked on a career in fashion photography and worked for brands and designers in London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and New York. In 2015 she left the fashion industry when she realized that her work was contributing to the creation of unrealistic and unattainable beauty standards that caused many women to suffer. She thus founded Quest for Beauty, a photography project that took her to travel solo across four continents in search of the true meaning of Beauty. Through her travels, she shifted her focus to social and humanitarian issues: she documented gender-based violence in India, refugee and displaced persons camps in Iraq, drug addiction in Zanzibar, the war in Ukraine, and worked on many other projects alongside non-governmental organizations. Thanks to her work, shared on social media, she attracted the attention of the international press in publications such as the New York Times, Daily Mail, Vanity Fair, Huffington Post, Sunday Times and many others. Author of 'La felicità è una scelta' (Piemme, 2021, afterword by Emma Bonino) and 'Chiudi gli occhi e cercami' (Vallardi 2026), she today collaborates with brands, companies and international NGOs, telling stories of places, cultures and traditions, but, above all, stories of people.
