Serenella Messina

Biography

Born and raised in Milan, after graduating in philosophy, she won a scholarship and attended the Master's in Marketing and Corporate Communication at Publitalia 80. In '91 she was hired at Mediaset Television Networks, where she worked for 25 years, first as Executive Producer, then as Programme Editor with the title of executive. During her career she signed successful programmes, such as Scherzi a Parte, Top of The Pop, Matricole e Meteore, Amici etc., working with some of the most beloved personalities on Italian television, from Mike Bongiorno to Iva Zanicchi, Mara Venier, Teo Teocoli, Simona Ventura, Maria de Filippi and many others. In 2013, together with her husband Simone Lucchesi, an illustrator, and their dachshund Mario, they moved to a small Ligurian village in the province of La Spezia: Castè. Here in 2017 they opened their first furnished apartment for tourist use and Serenella began attending the Vivere di Turismo courses. Since 2014 she has been President of the CastèVive! Association, founded by the inhabitants of Castè for the revival of the Historic Village. In this role she organises every year, in collaboration with the Municipality of Riccò del Golfo, a summer festival of music and art and works on the promotion of the local area. The revival of historic villages and tourism as a driver of change also become a commitment that characterises the company SH - Short-Term Rentals and Property Management, which Serenella Messina opens in 2025. Since '25 she has also been a tourism councillor for the Lower Val di Vara area for Confartigianato La Spezia. In the chapter 'Castè il Borgo che Rinasce' of the book 'Cittadini Ospitali' published by Vivere di Turismo, she recounts the decision to radically change her life and the revival project of the Historic Village of Castè.
